Give Genesis safe, complete hands inside WordPress.

Install the connector once, pair it to the correct Genesis project, and the project can inspect and manage that self-hosted WordPress site through a private MCP connection.

Connect in four steps

  1. Download and install Genesis Connector in WordPress → Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
  2. If the site uses Elementor, install Genesis Elementor the same way.
  3. In Genesis, open the correct project → Apps → WordPress and enter the site address.
  4. Genesis opens the site’s own WordPress pairing screen. Sign in as the WordPress user whose permissions Genesis should inherit, then approve the connection.

Install once, then stay current

Both plugins update themselves the ordinary WordPress way. When a newer version is published, the site shows Update available on the Plugins screen and updates in place — there is no need to delete and re-upload a ZIP, and pairing survives the update.

Power with boundaries

The connector deliberately does not create an unaudited “run arbitrary PHP” back door. It exposes typed tools that cover normal WordPress and Elementor administration while enforcing the connected WordPress user’s capabilities. Genesis separately asks before publishing, deleting, changing users, switching themes, or taking another consequential action.

The pairing code expires after ten minutes and works once. WordPress stores only a hash of the resulting access token; Genesis encrypts the grant in its project connection registry. Disconnecting revokes the grant.

Current alpha scope

The connector is built for self-hosted WordPress sites, including managed hosts and custom domains. WordPress.com is not the target. Multisite network administration, WooCommerce-specific commerce actions, arbitrary plugin installation, and host-level file or database access are not yet included. Those belong in separately reviewable capability packs.
